BACKGROUND <\/strong>:<\/strong><\/p>

Africa faces numerous socio-economic challenges, which are further exacerbated by the increasing impacts of climate change. Addressing these challenges requires stronger partnership and more efficient climate service institutions that integrate the needs of all key stakeholders into their vision and action plans. Furthermore, ACMAD as WMO’s Regional Climate Centre for Africa, plays a key role in providing strategic climate information, advisories, guidance and capacity building program to its member states. In response to this urgent need, in October 2023, ACMAD has issued a \u201cDRAFT STRATEGIC PLAN 2024-2027\u201d declining its vision and updated his strategic plan (2020-2023) to better align with the evolving African priorities and relevant international frameworks.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of this effort, ACMAD is organizing a Strategic Retreat Workshop<\/strong> on Friday, 28 February 2025, in Niamey, Hotel Univers<\/strong>. This workshop aims to review and validate ACMAD-ClimSA activities and facilitate an in-depth review of the ACMAD 2024-2027 strategic plan, ensuring its validation and adoption by all the s<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

OBJECTIVE:<\/strong><\/p>

The specifics objectives of the workshop will be:<\/p>

  • Review and validate ACMAD CLIMSA Workplan and activities<\/li><\/ul>
    • Finalize and validate ACMAD’s strategic plan for the 2024-2027 period.<\/li>
    • Ensure the plan’s alignment with the global objectives of WMO, the African Union, and other partners.<\/li>
    • Ensure good knowledge and adoption of strategic action plan by all Staff.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
