ACMAD at AMS Meeting :
ACMAD is proud to announce its participation in the 105th American Meteorological Society (AMS) Annual Meeting, held from January 12–16, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Representing ACMAD at this prestigious gathering is Dr. Ousmane Ndiaye, Director General, who is engaging in high-level discussions aimed at advancing climate services delivery across Africa.
As part of the agenda, Dr. Ndiaye held a pivotal meeting with the Google team, focusing on a potential partnership to harness AI technology for enhanced weather forecasting and climate prediction in Africa. This groundbreaking initiative highlights a mutual commitment to innovation and resilience.
Dr. Ndiaye also engaged with representatives from Canadian Cooperation, NVIDIA, UCAR, Data Intelligence Lab, WISER, and NOAA to strengthen collaborations and secure international support for initiatives promoting climate resilience in Africa.
Through its active participation in the global meteorological dialogue, ACMAD reaffirms its dedication to delivering impactful climate services that empower African communities to tackle climate-related challenges with greater preparedness and adaptability.
