ACMAD at the Second African Climate Summit(ACS2)

The African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD) is delighted to announce its participation in the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), taking place from 8–10 September 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under the theme “Scaling Africa’s Climate Resilience.” At the Summit, ACMAD will actively engage in diverse conversations and bilateral meetings with partners and stakeholders.

We are also proud to host a side event titled Scaling Africa’s Climate Resilience – Strengthening Strategic Partnerships for Climate Services and Early Warning Systems. The event will take place on 09 September, from 09:30 to 11:00 at the Rockefeller Pavilion.

This session will bring together representatives from governments, regional organizations, humanitarian and development actors, and the private sector to:

  • Showcase successful initiatives and innovations in climate services and early warning systems across Africa;
  • Identify opportunities for strengthening partnerships and mobilizing resources;
  • Promote actionable solutions for enhancing resilience and protecting lives, livelihoods, and ecosystems.
  • Why Attend?

Africa stands at the frontline of the climate crisis, facing recurrent droughts, floods, and extreme weather events that threaten lives and livelihoods. While the challenges are immense, so are the opportunities: strengthening climate services and early warning systems can save lives, protect economies, and drive sustainable development.

By attending, you will discover how Africa can turn climate challenges into opportunities,  you will gain insights into actionable solutions, connect with key actors shaping Africa’s climate resilience agenda, and contribute to a collective effort to safeguard communities and economies from climate risks.
