International Day of Clean Energy: A Call for Climate Action

As the impacts of climate change intensify, affecting communities around the world, on 26 January the International Day of Clean Energy, we are reminded more than ever that transitioning to clean, renewable energy is essential for tackling climate change. Clean energy is not only about powering homes and industries—it’s about securing a sustainable future for all.

International Clean Energy Day serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to raise awareness and mobilize action for a fair and inclusive transition to clean energy.

Why is this transition crucial for the well-being of people and the planet?

  • Reducing Climate Impacts: By switching to renewable energy, we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and mitigate the harmful effects of climate change.
  • Building Resilience: Access to clean energy strengthens communities, supports key sectors like agriculture and health, and lays the foundation for sustainable development. It is vital for reducing vulnerability and increasing resilience to climate challenges.

In alignment with United Nations General Assembly Resolution 77/327, which proclaimed 26 January as International Clean Energy Day, ACMAD joins the international community in celebrating this day and reaffirming its commitment to a sustainable energy future.

Together, let’s accelerate the transition to clean energy and work toward a world that is both resilient to climate change and energy-efficient.
