REGIONAL CLIMATE OUTLOOK FORUM FOR SUDANO-SAHELIAN REGION(PRESASS 9)

The African Center for Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD), the AGRHYMET Regional Center as well as the national meteorological and hydrological services in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and their partners meet from April 18 to 25 2022 in Abuja, Nigeria as part of the 9th Regional Forum on Climate Outlook for the Sudano-Sahelian Region (PRESASS).

The results of the meeting led to a consensus forecast between the various stakeholders summarized in the final press release which stipulates that “A rainy 2022 is expected in the Sahel, with generally early start dates, late end of season dates, short dry spells in the western part and average dry spells in the eastern part and generally excess or average flows in the main river basins.”
